The State of Vermont Water Supply Division developed a strategy in the spring and summer of 2000 to improve public water system capabilities to comply with drinking water regulations and protect public health. The strategy development focused on determining the reasons for non-compliance with regulations, identification of solution, and use of available resources to improve the technical, financial and managerial capabilities.
One resource is approximately $9 million in Drinking Water State Revolving Funds expected to be available annually for the next several years. Approximately 25% of these funds may be used for non-construction purposes.
An advisory workgroup sponsored the following meetings to obtain suggestions and comments from owners, operators, public officials and other interested persons.
